Tim Powers

Timothy Thomas Powers (born February 29, 1952) is an American science fiction and fantasy author known for his critically acclaimed novels blending historical events with supernatural elements. His breakthrough work, The Anubis Gates (1983), won the Philip K. Dick Award, and he has since earned two World Fantasy Awards for Last Call and Declare, with On Stranger Tides inspiring the Monkey Island games and a Pirates of the Caribbean film.
