Tim Pears

Tim Pears (born 15 November 1956) is an English novelist whose works explore social issues through family dynamics. Born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, he grew up in Trusham on the edge of Dartmoor where his father was the rector, left school at sixteen, worked various jobs, and graduated from the National Film and Television School. He is best known for novels like In the Place of Fallen Leaves, which won the Hawthornden Prize, In a Land of Plenty, and the West Country Trilogy, and currently lives in Oxford.
