Thomas Vaughan

Thomas Vaughan (1621–1666) was a Welsh clergyman, philosopher, alchemist, and poet, best known for his writings on natural magic under the pseudonym Eugenius Philalethes. Twin brother of poet Henry Vaughan, he studied at Jesus College, Oxford, served as rector of Llansaintffraed, fought for Charles I in the Civil War, and later focused on alchemy, possibly dying from mercury fumes.[1][4][6]
