Thomas Steinbeck

Thomas Myles Steinbeck (August 2, 1944 – August 11, 2016) was an American screenwriter, photographer, journalist, and novelist who published numerous works of fiction including short stories and novels[1]. He was the elder son of Nobel Prize-winning American novelist John Steinbeck and achieved modest success as an author in his own right, best known for his short story collection Down to a Soundless Sea[1][3]. Steinbeck began his career in the 1960s as a combat photographer in Vietnam and later taught college-level courses in American literature, creative writing, and communication arts[4].
