Thomas "Sonny" Garrett

Thomas Lesslie Garrett, known as 'Snuff Garrett' or 'Tommy Garrett,' was an American record producer, A&R man, DJ, and music industry figure whose most notable work occurred during the 1960s and 1970s. He produced hits for artists including Sonny & Cher, Vicki Lawrence's 'The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,' and Tanya Tucker's 'Lizzie and the Rainman.' Born in Dallas, Texas, he earned his nickname 'Snuff' in high school and built a multifaceted career in music.[1][2][5]
