Thomas Rid

Thomas Rid is Professor of Strategic Studies and founding director of the Alperovitch Institute for Cybersecurity Studies at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies. He previously served as a professor in the Department of War Studies at King's College London from 2011 to 2016 and holds a PhD from Humboldt University in Berlin. Rid is the author of acclaimed books including Cyber War Will Not Take Place (2013), Rise of the Machines (2016), and Active Measures (2020), focusing on cybersecurity, cybernetics, and disinformation.
