Thomas Moore
Thomas Moore (1779–1852) was an Irish poet, writer, and lyricist widely celebrated in his lifetime as Ireland's "national bard." He is best known for *Irish Melodies* and other Romantic-era works, as well as for his biographical writing and friendships with major literary figures such as Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley.
