Thomas Jefferson Cypert

Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826) was an American statesman, lawyer, philosopher, and writer best known as the principal author of the Declaration of Independence and the third president of the United States. He also helped found the University of Virginia and was a major advocate for religious freedom and republican ideals, though his legacy is complicated by his ownership of enslaved people.
