Thi Bui
Thi Bui is a Vietnam-born American graphic novelist and illustrator best known for her debut memoir *The Best We Could Do*, which chronicles her family's escape from Vietnam as boat people after the Fall of Saigon and their resettlement in the United States in 1978. Born in Saigon three months before the end of the Vietnam War, she is one of six children and has since created works addressing Southeast Asian diaspora issues, illustrated children's books like the Caldecott Honor-winning *A Different Pond*, and taught in MFA comics programs.[1][2][3]
