The International Agency for Research on Cancer

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is an intergovernmental agency within the World Health Organization of the United Nations. It coordinates and conducts research into the causes of cancer and the mechanisms of carcinogenesis, and develops strategies for cancer prevention and control. Its best-known output is the IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans.
