Terry Goodkind

Terry Goodkind (1948-2020) was an American author best known for his epic fantasy series The Sword of Truth, which sold over 25 million copies worldwide and was adapted into the TV series Legend of the Seeker. Despite suffering from dyslexia and lacking formal education beyond high school, he worked as a carpenter, violin maker, and wildlife artist before publishing his debut novel Wizard's First Rule at age 46. His works often explored philosophical ideas and human themes, with over 30 novels published in more than 20 languages.
