Terence Mintac
Terence, born Publius Terentius Afer, was a Roman playwright during the Republic era, renowned for his six surviving comedies adapted from Greek originals by Menander and others, produced between 166 and 160 BC. Born in Carthage, he was brought to Rome as a slave, educated and freed by senator P. Terentius Lucanus, and became associated with the Scipionic Circle. His works are models of pure Latin and form the basis of the modern comedy of manners.
