Ted Benton

Ted Benton is a British emeritus professor of sociology at the University of Essex who has taught social theory and environmental social science for more than forty years.[3] He began his career as a science teacher before studying philosophy and becoming a philosophy lecturer in Essex's sociology department.[1] His distinctive contribution to sociology combines his background in philosophy and natural sciences, particularly biology, with work in realist philosophy, ecology, and Marxism.[2]
