Benedikt Taschen is a German publisher and contemporary art collector who founded the luxury art book publishing house Taschen in 1980 in Cologne, Germany, at the age of 18, starting with a comic book shop and catalogs.[1][2] The company, now co-managed with his daughter Marlene Taschen, specializes in illustrated books on art, architecture, design, film, photography, pop culture, and lifestyle, making high-quality art accessible at affordable prices.[2][6] Taschen has grown into one of the most successful international publishers with titles available in multiple languages.[1][5]
