Tanya Stivers

Tanya Stivers is a sociologist and professor at UCLA whose research focuses on conversation analysis, social interaction, medical sociology, child socialization, and decision making. She studies how people use interactional practices in everyday and clinical settings, often using recordings of naturally occurring conversation and combining conversation analysis with statistical and ethnographic methods.
