Taha Hussein (also known as Taha Husayn) was a pioneering Egyptian writer, literary critic, and modernist intellectual, widely regarded as the 'Dean of Arabic Literature.' Born blind at age two due to an eye infection, he became a leading figure of the Arab Renaissance and authored influential works including novels, stories, criticism, and his acclaimed three-volume autobiography 'The Days' (Al-Ayyām).
