Sylvia McNicoll

Sylvia McNicoll is a Canadian author born in Ajax, Ontario, in 1954, who has written over 40 books for young readers, including short stories, middle-grade fiction, novels for reluctant readers, and young adult novels. A Concordia University graduate and former creative writing instructor at Sheridan College and Living Arts Centre, she won the 1996 Silver Birch Children's Choice Award and the 1997 Manitoba Young Reader's Choice Award for Bringing Up Beauty. She also writes under the pseudonym Geena Dare for early adolescent girls' series.
