Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda, born Narendranath Datta, was a renowned Indian Hindu monk and chief disciple of the mystic Ramakrishna. He played a pivotal role in introducing the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world and is credited with elevating Hinduism to the status of a major world religion. Vivekananda founded the Ramakrishna Mission and Math, which continue to provide social service and spiritual guidance globally.
