Susumu Sato
Susumu Sato was a Japanese physician and pharmacist who studied medicine in Germany and became the first Asian graduate of Berlin University Medical School to earn a PhD in 1874.[1][2] He later played a major role in public health and education, including helping found the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association and serving as director of the Joshibi Art School.[1]
