Susan Fisher Sterling
Susan Fisher Sterling is an American art historian and museum director born in 1955, best known as the Director of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, D.C., since 2008. She joined NMWA in 1988 as associate curator, advancing through roles including curator of modern and contemporary art and chief curator/deputy director, while earning MA and PhD degrees in Art History from Princeton University. A champion of women in the arts, she has authored numerous catalogues and books and received honors such as National Orders of Merit from Brazil and Norway.
