Susan Doran

Susan Michelle Doran (née Savitt), FRHistS, is a British historian specializing in the reign of Elizabeth I, particularly themes of marriage, succession, politics, religion, and culture in sixteenth and early seventeenth-century England.[1][4] She has published and edited sixteen books, including *Elizabeth I and Religion, 1558–1603*, *Monarchy and Matrimony*, *Queen Elizabeth I*, and *From Tudor to Stuart: The Regime Change from Elizabeth I to James I*.[1][5] Doran studied history at St Anne’s College, Oxford, taught at St Paul’s Girls’ School and St Mary’s University, Twickenham, and since 2002 has held positions at Oxford, becoming Professor of Early Modern British History and Senior Research Fellow at Jesus College.[2][3][6]
