Sunu P. Chandy

Sunu P. Chandy (she/her) is a social justice activist, poet, and civil rights attorney, daughter of immigrants from Kerala, India, and a queer woman of color living in Washington, D.C. with her family. She authored the award-winning poetry collection My Dear Comrades published by Regal House in 2023, with work featured in anthologies like The Penguin Book of Indian Poets and The Long Devotion: Poets Writing Motherhood. She holds a B.A. in Peace and Global Studies/Women’s Studies from Earlham College, a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, and an MFA in Poetry from Queens College/CUNY, and currently serves as Senior Advisor at Democracy Forward while on the board of the Transgender Law Center.
