Sue Penney

Sue Penney is a British teacher and author born in 1957 in Redruth, Cornwall, England. She earned a B.A. with honors from the University of Hull in 1979 and a postgraduate certificate in education from the College of Ripon and York St. John in 1980, teaching and heading departments at secondary schools in England, including Liverpool, from 1980 to 1991 before becoming a full-time writer in 1991. She is known for nonfiction works in the 'Discovering Religions' series (released in the US as 'World Beliefs and Cultures'), including 'Understanding Christianity' and 'Islam', for which she received the Middle East Outreach Council Book Award in 2001.[1][2]
