Stephen Owens

Stephen Owen is an American sinologist and James Bryant Conant University Professor Emeritus at Harvard University, specializing in Chinese literature, particularly Tang dynasty poetry and comparative poetics. He has authored or edited dozens of books and translations, including the groundbreaking Norton Anthology of Chinese Literature, and was jointly awarded the 2018 Tang Prize in Sinology for his scholarship on Classical Chinese prose and poetry.
