St Thomas Aquinas

St. Thomas Aquinas (1225–1274) was an Italian Dominican friar, philosopher, theologian, and jurist, widely regarded as the foremost figure of medieval Scholasticism and known as the 'Angelic Doctor.' Born into nobility near Aquino, Italy, he joined the Dominican Order against his family's wishes and produced monumental works like the Summa Theologiae and Summa contra Gentiles, synthesizing Aristotelian philosophy with Christian theology. He died at the Cistercian monastery of Fossanova while en route to the Council of Lyon and was canonized in 1323.
