St. John Henry Newman

St. John Henry Newman (1801–1890) was an English theologian, poet, and cardinal who played a pivotal role in the 19th-century Oxford Movement, advocating for a return to ancient Catholic practices within the Church of England. He later converted to Roman Catholicism and was ordained a priest, eventually becoming a cardinal. His influential works include 'Apologia Pro Vita Sua' and the hymn 'Lead, Kindly Light,' and he was canonized as a saint in 2019.
