Sonya Pritzker

Sonya E. Pritzker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Alabama, where she specializes as a linguistic and medical anthropologist and licensed practitioner of Chinese medicine[2][4]. Her research focuses on the intersection of language, embodied experience, and culturally situated ideologies regarding race, class, gender, health, and selfhood, with significant work on emotion and intimacy in China and the U.S.[2][4]. She serves as the Director of the Living Justice Project and edited the book Living Toward Justice: A Time Capsule in October 2025[2][4].
