Smriti Prasadam-Halls, also known as Smriti Halls, is an award-winning, internationally bestselling British children's author of South Indian descent who began publishing picture books in 2012 after 12 years working as a writer and commissioning editor for the BBC and in children's publishing and television. Her books, including I Love You Night and Day and Rain Before Rainbows, have been translated into more than 40 languages and won numerous awards. She lives in London with her husband and three sons, and is involved in literacy initiatives as a former BookTrust Writer in Residence and current Patron of the School Library Association.
