Simon Hornblower
Simon Hornblower, FBA (born 29 May 1949) is an English classicist and academic specializing in ancient Greek history and literature, particularly Herodotus, Thucydides, and Hellenistic poetry.[2][3][4] He served as Professor of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Oxford and was a senior research fellow at All Souls College before retiring, and later held positions at University College London including Grote Professor of Ancient History.[1][2][7] He is a Fellow of the British Academy and editor of works like the Oxford Classical Dictionary.[3][4][6]
