Shelby Van Pelt
Shelby Van Pelt is an American author born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest. She graduated cum laude from Claremont McKenna College in 2002 with a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, worked in consulting for nearly a decade, and now lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband Drew and two children. Her debut novel, Remarkably Bright Creatures (2022), became a New York Times bestseller and won the 2023 McLaughlin-Esstman-Stearns First Novel Prize.[1][2][5]
