Shelby Foote
Shelby Foote was an American novelist, historian, and short-story writer best known for his three-volume work The Civil War: A Narrative. Born in Greenville, Mississippi, he gained renewed prominence in the 1990s as a commentator in Ken Burns’ PBS documentary The Civil War.
