Satnam Virdee

Satnam Virdee is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Glasgow, where he has served since 2001 and became a professor in 2005, and is the founding Director of the Centre for Research on Racism, Ethnicity and Nationalism. His research examines the intertwined histories of capitalism, class, and racism, as well as counter-hegemonic social movements challenging structural inequalities. He is the author of seven books, including 'Racism, Class and the Racialized Outsider' (2014) and 'Britain in Fragments' (2023, co-authored with Brendan McGeever).[1][2]
