Sarah Lewis

Sarah Elizabeth Lewis is an award-winning art and cultural historian, author, and the John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Humanities and Associate Professor of African and African American Studies at Harvard University.[2][4][5] She is the founder of Vision & Justice, a key initiative exploring the role of visual culture in America's representational democracy, and has authored bestselling books including *The Rise: Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery* (2014) and *The Unseen Truth: When Race Changed Sight in America* (2024).[2][3][4][5]
