Sandy Cosgrove
Shady Cosgrove is an American-born writer living in the Illawarra region of Australia, where she teaches prose fiction and editing at the University of Wollongong. She grew up on a small island off Seattle, studied English Literature and Women’s Studies at Vassar College, and completed her PhD at the Australian National University after arriving in Australia in 1994. Her published books include *What the Ground Can’t Hold* (Picador, 2013) and *She Played Elvis* (Allen and Unwin, 2009), the latter shortlisted for the Australian Vogel Prize.[1]
