Sandra Cisneros

Sandra Cisneros is an American writer, poet, and memoirist best known for her acclaimed novella The House on Mango Street, which explores the experience of a young Latina growing up in Chicago. Born in Chicago to a Mexican American family, she has become one of the most prominent Latina voices in American literature and has received major honors including the MacArthur Fellowship and the National Medal of Arts.
