Samuel R Wells
Samuel R. Wells (Samuel Roberts Wells) was an American phrenologist and publisher active in the mid-19th century, best known for his works on phrenology and physiognomy, including 'How to Read Character' and 'The New Physiognomy.' He studied medicine but abandoned its practice to promote phrenology through lectures and writings across the United States, Canada, and Great Britain, while running a successful publishing business specializing in self-help and scientific literature.
