Samuel Kotz
Samuel Kotz was a statistician, professor, and author known for major contributions to probability theory, statistical methodology, and systems of distributions. Born in Harbin, China, he studied in Israel and at Cornell University, later holding academic positions at the University of Toronto, Temple University, the University of Maryland, and George Washington University. He coedited the influential multi-volume Encyclopedia of Statistical Sciences and wrote widely used reference works on statistical distributions.
