Samantha Shannon
Samantha Shannon is a British author of dystopian and fantasy fiction, best known for her debut novel *The Bone Season* (2013), the first in a seven-book series, which became an international bestseller after she signed a major deal with Bloomsbury at age 20 while studying at Oxford.[2][5] Born in London in 1991, she began writing seriously at 15, graduated with a degree in English Language and Literature from St Anne's College, Oxford in 2013, and has since published standalone successes like *The Priory of the Orange Tree* (2019), which sold over a million copies.[2][5] Her works, translated into 28 languages, include recent releases such as *A Day of Fallen Night* (2023) and *Among the Burning Flowers* (2025).[2][7]
