Salvatore Quasimodo

Salvatore Quasimodo was an Italian poet, critic, and translator born in Modica, Sicily, in 1901. He was a leading figure of Hermetic poetry and later wrote socially engaged verse; he received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1959.
