Ruth Culham
Ruth Culham, Ed.D., is a pioneering researcher and author in the 6+1 Traits of Writing assessment model, having launched a writing revolution with her seminal book and subsequent guides for primary and upper grades. She spent 19 years as a classroom teacher, earning Montana's English Teacher of the Year award, and later served as Unit Manager of the Assessment Program at Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (now Education Northwest). As president of The Culham Writing Company, she continues to create workshops and resources to transform writing instruction worldwide.
