Russell McCormmach
Russell McCormmach is an American historian of science specializing in the history of physics, particularly 19th- and 20th-century German physics and figures like Henry Cavendish. He earned bachelor's degrees from Washington State University and Oxford University, and a PhD in 1967 from Case Western Reserve University, then taught physics, mathematics, and history of science at institutions including Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, and University of Oregon. He authored the novel 'Night Thoughts of a Classical Physicist' set in 1918 Germany and works such as 'The Personality of Henry Cavendish.'
