Russell Edson
Russell Edson was an American poet, novelist, and illustrator known as the 'godfather of the prose poem in America.' Born in Connecticut in 1935, he devoted over forty years to developing the prose poem form, creating distinctive works populated with surreal and intriguing figures. He received numerous honors including a Guggenheim Fellowship and multiple National Endowment for the Arts fellowships.
