Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges is an American civil rights activist best known for being the first Black child to desegregate William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans in 1960, when she was six years old. Her courage became a lasting symbol of the civil rights movement, and she later founded the Ruby Bridges Foundation to promote tolerance and education.
