Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (England)
The Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England (RCHME) was a British government body established in 1908 to survey, record, and publish inventories of ancient and historical monuments across England. It operated until 1999, when it merged with English Heritage, contributing significantly to the documentation and preservation of England's architectural and archaeological heritage. Its work included detailed inventories and histories of historical sites.
