Roy Lee Moodie

Roy Lee Moodie (1880–1934) was a geologist and the first person to hold the title of palaeopathologist, pioneering the study of ancient disease through his analysis of pathological changes in fossils from sites like Rancho La Brea in California. He published extensively from 1915 until his death in 1934, including his major compendium *Paleopathology; an Introduction to the Study of Ancient Evidences of Disease*, and is recognized as one of the eleven founders of paleopathology in the United States[1][2].
