Rosmarie Waldrop
Rosmarie Waldrop, née Sebald, is a German-born American poet, translator, editor, and publisher known for her experimental poetry and translations of avant-garde writers like Edmond Jabès. She immigrated to the United States in 1958, earned a PhD from the University of Michigan in 1966, and co-founded Burning Deck Press with her husband Keith Waldrop, settling in Providence, Rhode Island in 1968. Waldrop has authored numerous books of poetry, fiction, and essays, and received awards including election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2006.
