Rose Rosengard Subotnik
Rose Rosengard Subotnik (née Rosengard; born 1942) is a leading American musicologist credited with introducing Theodor Adorno's writings to English-speaking musicologists in the late 1970s. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in musicology from Columbia University and held positions at the University of Chicago before becoming Professor of Music Emerita at Brown University. Her influential books include Developing Variations and Deconstructive Variations, focusing on music, ideology, and deconstruction.
