Ronald Lee
Ronald Lee (1934–2020) was a Romani Canadian writer, linguist, professor, folk musician, and activist who studied Romani society and culture while fostering intercultural dialogue between Roma and non-Roma.[1] He authored the popular autobiographical novel Goddamn Gypsy (1971), later republished as The Living Fire (E Zhivindi Yag) in 2009, which was translated into multiple languages.[1][3] Born in Montreal, he spent his formative years from age 5 to 13 in the United Kingdom before returning to Canada.[3]
