Roland Smith
Roland Smith is an American author of young adult fiction and children's nonfiction books, born in Portland, Oregon in 1951. He worked as a zookeeper for 20 years at the Oregon Zoo and Point Defiance Zoo before becoming a full-time writer, drawing inspiration from his extensive experience with animals and wildlife conservation. His award-winning works include popular series such as Cryptid Hunters, Peak, Storm Runners, and The 39 Clues, combining adventure, animals, and real-world issues with wry humor and high-stakes action.
