Roger Hargreaves
Charles Roger Hargreaves (1935–1988) was an English cartoonist, illustrator, and author best known for creating the Mr. Men and Little Miss series of children's books, which have sold over 85 million copies worldwide in 20 languages. Born in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, he began his career in advertising before launching the whimsical, simply illustrated stories inspired by his son Adam's question about what a tickle looks like. He also created the Timbuctoo series and other children's books.
